Tires

Are the factory tires sufficient for handling rough terrain or would you buy different tires? For example, if you knew you were going to be in mud a lot, what kind of tires would you use?

I like the ITP mud lites. I put some on last year and they improved the traction all around, mud, rock and loose dirt/gravel. The factory paddle type are good in the sand and thats where the mud lites didnt work as well.

I've seen those tires before. The treads look like they can take on just about any type of surface and eat it up.

At this time i'm running a set of ITP Blackwater's on the rear.they are working good, I tryed them for the sand i was riding in because I could drop the air to 3 or 4 psi. But they are 6 ply But, on the road & rocks they are wearing fast! On the fronts I'm trying a set of Bighorn's 8 ply. They are nice. Also I'm running all 4 on rhino rims. I'm sure i will put a set of Bighorn's on the rear soon. And the stock Tomcar tires I use for rocks, they are 10 ply.Less flats that way.(rears only) I use a front for a spair.

I found from the home website that they do great after sales service and that to on site. So, I don't think you will find any problem even if something goes wrong during your trip.

Just imagie tractor tyres to the tomcar.. I believe that wud be best for farmersto plogh small fields..isnt it good?

Hey Joe! How are you? I just want ask what would be the lifespan of your 4 Bighorns. When do you think it will last. Because I want to be practical nowadays. I want to buy something that even if the price is quite high at least I can use it for a long span of time.

I don't really change my tires at all. I find my current standard Tomcar tires to be alright with any kind of terrain anyway. And it would be more expensive and more time consuming if I buy a lot of other tires.

That would be a great idea too. Nowadays, vehicle owners must be practical in many ways. Maybe you should buy a reserve tire in case of trouble or emergency incidents that may happen.

I think the lifespan of the tires will be based on hoe you drive the car. I'm hard on my car. that's why I got a tomcar. the trails are nice but , rocks are fun. So far the bighorns are working great, and are wearing good. later.

Are the rihno rims as dureable as the tomcar rim? do you have a part # and a place to get those types of rims for the tomcar? I need rims bad steel and dureable type, the ones i have leak preety bad and are beat up. let me know when you can please.

Paul Askren: Sofar the Rihno rims are doing fine. Did get a set of deeper off set rims for the rears. The Bighorn tires are great. I got the spacers at Toy junkies. With the spacers you can uses any 4/110 rim. But, you can fix the Tomcar. And any 12" tire will fit on them. Good luck.
