I don’t own one but based on the looks, it is very fast. So how fast does a tom car could go?
What model is the fastest?

As far as I know the fastest Tomcar version can reach speeds upto 49mph. However each version of Tomcars have their own speed ranges and there is also difference between a recreation one and a military one.

I have a TM47G,3 cyc. And the best I can get out of it is 36 mph ! I wish it would get 49mph. I thought of trying a Blue CVT,But I don't think it would help.. This is why Tomcar switch to a 4 cyc. With a higher RPM range.

Yeah, that's right. So you would really have to check out the one you'll be buying.

I have 2 tomcars, one is a 25 with a fuel injected Kohler engine and it tops out at almost 50, the other one is 27 with a carburated 953 Daihatsu and it goes about 42. I would like to try the CVT but can't seem to find a place or model to buy. I am also interested in how much difference the fi makes.

apollosg: I know in Arizona,Phx. a place called Toyjunkies sells the blue CVTs (? 300.00) They say that they will help. But the cost to dollars to MPH is it worth it? I have not seen one on a car yet.But I am still thinking of getting one...

50? Not bad at all! You know you could also try to surf the internet to look for that type of Tomcar. I know their main site offers various information about their TOMCAR.

So the fuel injected Kohler engine brings the Tomcar up to 50?
Sounds great for getting enough power to pull yourself out of the dirt with a powerful machine like that.

Toy Junkies have great offers as what I've heard. They have good parts even for Tomcars. If you want, I think they also have a site so maybe you can check them out there.

Tomcar isn't about speed, at least not in my opinion. It's an endurance vehicle and I have no desire to be going overly fast in some crazy terrains.

From 2010 onwards, all models are going to come with a touchdown speed of minimum to as low as 25 MPH and at top end speed reaching 55 MPH.

25 Miles Per hour to 55 Miles per hour is a decent speed to drive your Tomcar. You will not get an opportunity to drive faster than that on a regula basis :)

My car was the first to have a 120 horse Yamaha sled engine in AZ.
Never have had the peddle to the floor for top speed. Can pull a wheely in a heartbeat on the asphalt. Did Glamis last weekend with it, worked great. It will pull any desert hill with 500 ponds of flesh on board and excellerate while doing so. The conversion was pricey, but worth the fun. It also took about a 100 lbs out of the car. Changed the whole disposition of the car. You can still romp about, or fly. Top speed is close to 80 if you dare.

I'd like to see a video of the wheelie. Must be a 2 seater. The wheelbase is way to long to do that in a four seater. I have the Yahama engine in mine, had it up to about 60. Wouldn't want to go faster than that, the drives are screaming.
